Routine does not collect your data. There are no accounts, no servers, and no analytics. Everything you write and track stays on your device.
Nothing. Routine has no backend. We do not operate a server that receives your information, and we have no way to see your routines, streaks, journal entries, or reminders.
All of the app's data is stored locally on your iPhone:
This data is shared with the Routine home-screen and lock-screen widgets through a private, on-device container so the widgets can display your streak. It does not leave your phone.
Reminders and encouragement notes are scheduled locally by your device. Nothing is sent through a push server, so no third party sees when or whether you are reminded.
Routine offers Siri shortcuts for starting a routine. These run on your device. Apple's own privacy policy governs how Siri handles your voice request.
Routine lets you export a backup file containing your data, including your journal. That file is readable text, and once you export it you control where it goes — a Files folder, a message, another app. Please treat it like the personal record it is. We never receive a copy.
Routine Premium is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details, card information, or Apple ID. The app stores only whether a purchase is active, and it stores that on your device.
Routine contains no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no third-party tracking SDKs. Nothing in the app profiles you or follows you across other apps and websites.
Apple necessarily receives some information as the platform: App Store downloads, In-App Purchase transactions, and — if you are a beta tester — TestFlight activity. That data is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.
Routine is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Because everything is local, deleting the app removes your data from your device. There is no account to close and no server-side copy to request. Note that this is permanent — export a backup first if you want to keep your history.
